About Book Nook
What we offer:
Today, the Book Nook has over 4000 books, videos,
audio books and DVD's, all of which have been donated.
Most of the books are fiction, and many are current best-sellers.
There is also a sizable collection of biographies/autobiographies,
self-help books, and books for children of all ages.
The fee structure is very inexpensive so as to remain accessible
to anyone interested in using the library.
To purchase a library card, just stop in. If you prefer to receive your
card by mail, please Contact Us.
Special Events:
The Book Nook is modeled after lending libraries in the United States which are both meeting places and resource
centers. As a service to the community, we have hosted a variety of lectures or discussion groups covering topics
such as ‘Education in Ticino’, ‘Breast Cancer’, ‘the War in Iraq’, ‘Health & Wellness’, and ‘Real Estate in Ticino’.
There have also been reading hours for children, crafts for teens, Christmas markets, and second hand clothing
sales.
All of these activities are free and open to the public, and Book Nook cardholders are notified of upcoming events by
mail or email.
Volunteers:
The library is staffed entirely by volunteers, and is open to anyone interested in reading or conversing in English. If
you are interested in getting involved by volunteering during regular hours, working on our computer database,
organizing special events or processing new donations, please Contact Us
