Kids’ Story Corner at the Book Nook
Starting next month, The Book Nook and English for Fun (www.englishforfun.ch) will
present a Wednesday afternoon session of storytelling and activities for children ages
3-10. Each month will focus on a particular theme or author, and activities will be age
appropriate - depending on who registers. The goal is to provide an opportunity for
children to explore and expand their world of reading and writing in English. Our first
session will be Wednesday, February 1st from 15:30-16:30 at The Book Nook.
Storytelling by Miriam Harpur-Kaegi, featuring books by Julia Donaldson and Alex
Sheffler. Activities will include colouring, worksheets and games. Please contact Robin
(robin@allforkids.ch) or Miriam (englishforfun.ch@gmail.com) to sign up. Tell us your
name and the name/age of each child. Subsequent dates and topics will be
announced at the first session in February.

First Expat Expo in Ticino
A very special event is being organized for Sunday, March 11th at the Palazzo dei
Congressi in Lugano - the first Expat Expo in Ticino. For some years, these Expos have
taken place in other parts of Switzerland. They are impressive events - professional
and well organized with a community based atmosphere. The Book Nook will be there,
along with businesses large and small, clubs, schools, and services that cater to the
English speaking community.  We urge you to spread the word among your friends
and associates - and plan to stop by! The Expo will take place from 11:00-17:00, and
admission is free. For more information, or to register as an exhibitor, please visit www.
expat-expo.info.
